Gavin, what you're doing is HVT.
if you count the volume of Bench W5D1 50 x 8 x 2 = 800kg
if you increase the rep to 10 but reduce the weight to 47.5
47.5 x 10 x 2 = 950kg
that is still a 'gain'. Volume training is quite different, and may require more perseverence to get around.
